POSITION

POSITION: Material Handler SHIFT: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday (OT as needed)
PAY RATE: $19.00 - $22.00+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefits Package LOCATION: Blaine, MN

True North Steel is looking for a Material Handler to assist in the general handling, movement, and loading of steel at our Blaine site. This position is responsible for the general handling of materials where applicable, using overhead cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, and other similar equipment. The handling of material may be associated with various areas, including unloading in-bound material, loading out-bound material or moving and distributing material to various operation areas for fabrication.

• Ability to efficiently and safely operate applicable equipment to unload, load and distribute material with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate with team members verbally and non-verbally.
• Ability to work efficiently in all forms of weather (wind, heat, cold, rain, snow).
• Willing to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed.
• Prompt and dependable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Exhibit strong skills in material identification.
• Exhibit strong organizational skills.
• Exhibit basic computer skills.
• Plan and organize work to meet deadlines.
• Understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
• Ability to work with others.

• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience preferred
• High School Diploma or GED Required
