Position SummaryWe are seeking a Senior/Principal Electrical Systems Engineer to serve as a key technical leader supporting all phases of new platform development - from early concept and technology development through commercialization and post-market support.
This role is highly cross‑functional and hands‑on, requiring strong electromechanical system expertise and the ability to independently architect, prototype, test, and transfer complex medical devices to production. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in software‑driven electromechanical systems within the medical device industry.
Key Responsibilities- Lead system architecture development for electromechanical medical devices, including consoles and single‑use disposable systems.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Medical Affairs to define and refine user needs and design requirements.
- Participate in preclinical and formative studies with physicians and key users to gather feedback and improve system performance.
- Architect, design, prototype, test, verify, validate, and transfer Class II medical devices to production.
- Develop system diagrams, specifications, and requirements documentation.
- Select and evaluate critical electrical and electromechanical components.
- Support software, mechanical, and electrical architecture integration.
- Design and support GUI development and subsystem integration.
- Plan and support V&V activities, production tooling, and test fixture development.
- Optimize designs based on test data and cross‑functional feedback.
- Partner with external vendors to accelerate development and testing.
- Create and maintain design documentation including requirements, specifications, test plans, and V&V reports.
- Serve as a hands‑on technical resource across engineering disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in electronics and system design for new product development.
- Strong preference for medical device industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing software‑driven electromechanical systems.
- Experience with single‑use disposable medical devices.
- Experience supporting console‑based medical systems.
- Proven ability to work independently in a hands‑on engineering capacity.
- Experience collaborating with marketing teams to translate user needs into system requirements.
- Electromechanical product development.

- Release to production processes.
- Broad cross‑disciplinary engineering exposure (mechanical, electrical, software).
- Experience with ablation devices strongly preferred.
- Touchscreen displays.
- Electronic circuit boards.
- Embedded microcontrollers.
- RF communications.
- Application processors.
- Sensors and data acquisition systems.
- Pumps, valves, and motor control technologies.
- JAMA (requirements management).
- Altium (electrical design).
- Solid Works (mechanical design).
- Quarterly travel to Austin, TX (approximately once per quarter).
