PCB Designer III
Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
This is a fully direct hire position with our client. The PCB Designer III works closely with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to translate schematics and system requirements into high-quality, manufacturable printed circuit board (PCB) designs. This role requires strong technical expertise in PCB layout, high-speed and analog design techniques, and a deep understanding of how physical layout impacts electrical performance, signal integrity, RF behavior, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to convert schematics into complete, manufacturable PCB layouts
- Perform component placement and routing for high-speed digital, analog, RF, and power circuits
- Develop and manage multilayer PCB stack-ups, including impedance-controlled designs
- Apply signal integrity best practices such as termination, crosstalk mitigation, and BGA fan-out techniques
- Implement EMC/EMI prevention strategies to ensure compliance with performance and regulatory requirements
- Create and maintain PCB fabrication and assembly documentation (Gerbers, drill files, stack-up drawings, BOMs)
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve design quality and manufacturability
- Work closely with manufacturing partners to support DFM/DFA requirements and resolve layout-related issues
- Manage multiple design efforts simultaneously while meeting project schedules and quality standards
- Electronic Technology AA degree or Certificate with 5+ years of relevant experience OR
- High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years of relevant PCB design experience
- Proven experience in PCB layout, multilayer stack-ups, impedance calculations, and high-speed routing
- Proficiency with PCB CAD tools
- Strong understanding of the relationship between PCB layout and electrical performance, RF behavior, and EMI
- Knowledge of signal integrity and transmission line concepts (crosstalk, termination, BGA breakout, etc.)
- Experience with multilayer PCB manufacturing processes, including thru-hole and SMT designs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- 5+ years of experience using Cadence Allegro or OrCAD PCB Editor
- 5+ years of experience using Altium Designer
- 3+ years of experience using Hyper Lynx DRC or similar SI/PI analysis tools
