PROVAIL has an exciting opportunity for a Home Care Assistant to join our team! This position provides a variety of caregiving assistance directly to clients in their residences and in the community. This position serves seniors and adults with disabilities. We have immediate opening for a full time position supporting individuals in Shoreline, WA
.

This is a full time position that typically works Wednesday-Friday 7am-5pm but may require some need for occasional nights/weekends based business needs.

We help people decide how they want to live their life in the community and then provide the support services they need to act on those choices.

We are one of the state’s largest private, multi-service agencies dedicated to meeting the needs of children and adults with all types of disabilities.

What you may do:

  • Provide life enrichment activities and companion care.
  • Engage with clients by providing social and emotional support and companionship while making client safety and enjoyment a priority at all times.
  • Menu plan, provide shopping assistance, prepare meals, and help with feeding.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks.
  • Provide medication assistance and record keeping.
  • Assist clients with ADLs/IADL in a home setting.
  • Transport clients to medical or other appointments, shopping, and recreational activities in clients or our own personal vehicle.
  • Promptly report concerns about client abuse, neglect, or mistreatment in a prompt and appropriate manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Registered Nursing Assistant (NAR) and one year experience in Caregiving is preferred.
  • Ability to work 1:1 with clients with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to read and comprehend training material, policies and procedures, client programs and other written materials related to the position.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, co-workers, health care professionals, families and others, as required, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to follow care plans.
  • Organizational skills, reliability, and professionalism.
  • Must be able to perform frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Due to contractual requirements, all staff must successfully undergo a Washington State DSHS background check.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (NAC) or Home Care Aid (HCA) Certification
