Warehouse Cleaner/Porter Summary

Tate's Bake Shop is looking for a Warehouse Cleaner/Porter to join their Warehouse team in Shirley, NY. As a Cleaner/Porter, you would help ensure the facility and equipment are maintained in an orderly and clean condition. You must diligently follow the cleaning schedule to ensure adherence to food safety guidelines. The Cleaner/Porter should have great communication skills to help us make sure our delicious products are kept safe by reporting issues or concerns as needed.

• Remove and dispose of debris from warehouse including cardboard, paper, pallet/wood.
• Maintain floors and racks clean of any dust and dirt.
• Load dumpsters, (cardboard / regular garbage), daily.
• Use of proper chemicals to clean and sanitize production equipment as needed.
• Carefully follow Master Cleaning Schedule instructions to adhere to food safety guidelines.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Physical requirements:
  • Constantly move about the warehouse
  • Constantly position self to use cleaning equipment and remove debris.
  • Frequently move debris weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to loud noise or extremely heat/cold.
  • Constantly communicate to management and warehouse team.
  • Ability to observe areas needing to be cleaned/sanitized and follow cleaning procedures.
  • Exposure to multiple cleaning chemicals

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Preferably in a sanitation/cleaning position
• Knowledge of GMPs, SOPs, HACCP a plus
