The Education Network is currently recruiting a resilient and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive school setting in Bradford. This role involves supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them to regulate behaviour, engage in learning, and develop positive relationships. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive, and committed to making a lasting difference.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Support students with behavioural challenges and emotional regulation
- Implement behaviour support plans and individual strategies
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
- Promote a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or challenging behaviour
- Background in education, youth work, care, or support work desirable
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Calm, consistent, and resilient approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Team Teach or other positive handling training is desirable but not essential.
