Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN with at least one year of experience and current IL RN license for a 13-week day shift assignment with on-call requirements.

• Work in the PACU of an acute care hospital with 6 PACU beds and 18 OPS beds
• Day shift with 4x10 hour schedule from 08:00 to 18:30; day off during the week varies
• On-call required: one weeknight per week (Monday through Friday, 18:30-07:00) and every sixth weekend (Saturday 07:00 to Monday 07:00), with a 40-minute response time
• Patient ratio is 1:2 in PACU
• May float to sister campus during regular shifts, but not for call coverage
• EPIC EMR system used; EPIC experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Assist with ultrasound guided nerve blocks pre/post-op as needed with anesthesia
• Scrubs are provided
• Magnet hospital designation
• No more than 7 days of requested time off permitted within a 13-week contract; no time off allowed during the first week of orientation
• Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as travelers
• Parking is free
• Holiday coverage may be required during assignment

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year PACU RN experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Experience with EPIC charting required
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius; local candidates not accepted
