Laundry Worker

About the position:

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Scott AFB Lodging Facility. This is a flexible position, 0-40 hours per week, Not to Exceed 29-Aug-2026.

Sorts and counts all items to be laundered according to the proper classification, and recording quantities on the laundry inventory sheets. Maintain inventory sheets in sequence for reconciliation of quantities received, issued to housekeepers and of stocked items. Operates commercial type laundry washers and dryers according to instructions. Exercise judgment in removing worn, faded or overly soiled items and replacing the linen from stock.

Services equipment by keeping it clean and safe by performing operator's preventive maintenance. Maintains inventories of detergents and cleaning solutions required for laundry. Maintains updated files on Material Safety Data Sheets on all chemicals and hazardous materials used. Submits requisitions for cleaning supplies. Provides World Class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assist customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.

Takes action to solve problems quickly. Performs other duties as assigned.

• This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.

• This position requires a pre-employment physical. Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 45 pounds and be able to continuously stand, stoop, bend, and walk.
