Position Summary

As Director of Nursing, you will provide overall leadership and management of the health and well‑being of residents within the community. You will oversee clinical operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with administrators, pharmacy consultants, and other department leaders to maintain high quality care standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Ensure the community follows all federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to clinical care.
  • Collect, analyze, and report occurrence trends and develop/implement improvement plans as needed.
  • Partner with the Administrator and team members to analyze and maintain resident and staff health safety.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy consultant to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to residents.
  • Provide clinical expertise to licensed nurses.
  • Assist with educational presentations assigned by the Administrator.
  • Identify ongoing needs and services of residents through the assessment/service plan process, including documentation for changes in health care status.
  • Oversee completion of monthly updates and report any pertinent changes to the responsible party.
  • Coordinate with department coordinators to review and discuss potential changes in service/medication levels.
  • Ensure resident service plans are updated in accordance with state regulations.
  • Participate in community awareness activities and community relations.
  • Maintain communication with residents' families and/or responsible parties regarding changes in care or health concerns.
  • Inform the Business Office of fee changes related to care needs, if applicable.
  • Schedule clinical staff on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure adequate clinical supplies are available.
  • Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Provide supervision to LPNs, Certified Nursing Assistants, and other staff as assigned to assure delivery of consistently high‑quality care to residents. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications Educational Requirements And Experience
  • Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing;
    Registered Nurse preferred.
  • One (1) year in a nursing leadership role;
    Senior Living experience preferred.
  • BSL Certification.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Demonstrated interest in working with a senior population.
  • Effective communication skills in the primary language of residents.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong written communication for routine reports and correspondence.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new applications.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and apply common sense in standardized situations.
  • Courteous, friendly interaction with guests, residents, and staff.
  • Prompt response to resident needs.
Environmental Adaptability
  • Works primarily indoors in a climate‑controlled setting.
  • Exposure to blood and/or body fluids with potential exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases.
  • Possible exposure to unpleasant odors and chemicals as identified in the MSDS Manual.
Physical Requirements

Regular standing and walking; frequent use of hands and arms to pick up/run, reach, and manipulate items; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; regular lifting up to 50 pounds independently or up to 100 pounds with assistance; ability to push up to 350 lb. (wheelchair). Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
