Neuro ICU Charge RN

Overview

As our ICU Charge Nurse at CHI St. Vincent North, you’ll monitor patients who are critically ill and unstable following extensive injury, surgery, or life-threatening disease.

• Begin each shift by taking report from a nursing teammate before making rounds.
• Provide continued care and perform procedures as detailed in the care plan, including assisting a physician with a chest tube or central line, providing wound care, ensuring patients MRI or CT, or administering medications.
• Multitask effectively and react in fast-paced situations to care for patients, remain focused and attentive as you continuously monitor patients throughout your shift.
• Serve as patient advocate, supporting best interests when patients cannot advocate for themselves.
• Demonstrate sound judgment during emergencies and rapid response, contributing to opportunities for advancement.
• Lead and mentor your team; monitor productivity and efficiency of your department; engage with nurses, patients, and families.
• Attend meetings with leadership to learn about new initiatives and areas for improvement, and share information with your team.

• Unencumbered license to practice as an RN in the State of Arkansas
• 2 years of acute care experience is required, preferably in an ICU setting
• BLS through the American Heart Association is required
• ACLS through the American Heart Association is required
