As an Inspector at the Edmonton Refinery, you will be part of a dynamic team that is integrated with all operating areas of the plant.  You will be assigned to a specific Cross functional team in one of the operating areas of the Refinery.  In this role you will manage the core Inspection programs, including creation and execution of inspection plans and direct contract inspection resources.

You will communicate and addresses daily issues with area team such as operations and central maintenance and provide technical direction.

* Minimum Requirements:

*** Ten years of related experience with strong time management skills and with a keen attention to detail.
* A Technical Diploma in Materials Engineering Technology, Welding Engineering Technology or equivalent education with ten years of experience in a petrochemical or refining operation.
* A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
* Valid American Petroleum Institute (API) 510, 570 or 653 certification.
* ABSA In-Service inspection certification.
* Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods.
* Proven strong communication skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups.

* Key Accountabilities:

*** Support the refinery to improve our safety culture and overall safety performance on the Journey to Zero pursuit.
* Participate in incident investigations for the purposes of learning, prevention and continuous improvement.
* Prepare, review and maintain our inspection database and reports for quality analysis.
* Participate in activities that considers the impact of processes, equipment use and repair history to analyze reliability issues with cross-functional teams and recommend solutions to continually improve facility reliability.
* Identify long-range static equipment reliability plans with cost/benefit analysis to ensure work identification, scope development and execution aligns with the reliability strategies.
* Participate in all phases of maintenance: material selection, inspection and testing plans, execution and final testing.
* Participate or lead inspection activities for both ongoing non-destructive testing program and outages involving quality field inspections, analysis of results and recommendations for repairs to pressure equipment.
* Ensure the integrity of our static equipment is maintained and improved by monitoring the effectiveness of programs and procedures and making recommend changes.
* Assist with setting priorities of the Reliability team department's activities that align with the refinery goals.
* Recommend inspection technology to improve inspection effectiveness.
* Build strong positive relationships with local regulatory agency representatives to ensure strong understanding of the regulatory acts, codes and standards.
** Location and Other Key Details:
*** You will work out of our Edmonton refinery in Sherwood Park, located at 801 Petroleum Way.
* Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs.
