V3 Companies, a multidisciplinary AEC firm, is seeking a Planner in our Sherwood Park office, where you will contribute to career-defining projects that reimagine our built and natural world.

And, as part of our Planning team, you will collaborate with 450+ designers, engineers, and scientists to make meaningful, effective change across North America. The work is diverse and collaborative, offering exposure to municipal policy planning, development planning, engagement processes, and interdisciplinary project delivery.
Whether supporting research and analysis, preparing planning documents, or contributing to complex planning initiatives, you’ll play a role in shaping places where people live, work, and play.
Here’s what you’ll do:- Support planning projects through research, analysis, and preparation of planning documents and reports.
- Prepare maps, graphics, diagrams, and presentation materials to communicate planning concepts and project outcomes.
- Conduct research and collect data related to land use policy, municipal regulations, market conditions, demographics, infrastructure, and environmental considerations.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory plans and policy documents such as Municipal Development Plans, Area Structure Plans, Land Use Bylaws, and Intermunicipal planning documents.
- Support development planning assignments including rezoning, subdivision, development permit, and appeal applications.
- Assist with public and stakeholder engagement activities, including preparation of engagement materials and participation in meetings or workshops.
- Assist with site analysis, development feasibility assessments, and land use evaluations.
- Prepare visual and written materials to support council presentations, public meetings, and client briefings.
- Help coordinate project information, schedules, and documentation within multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to internal initiatives such as developing templates, improving workflows, and supporting knowledge sharing across the planning team.
- A planning professional with a strong interest in community development, land use planning, and collaborative project work.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban, Regional, or Rural Planning (or a related discipline) from a program accredited by the Canadian Institute of Planners.
- Minimum of 2+ years of professional planning experience, ideally within consulting, municipal government, or related environments.
- Eligibility for or progress toward professional membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP).
- Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience preparing professional reports, graphics, or presentations.
- Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office, ArcGIS, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with Sketch Up, AutoCAD, or other design tools is considered an asset.
- Understanding of Alberta’s planning framework and the relationship between provincial legislation, statutory plans, and municipal land use regulations.
