Responsibilities
Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility, provides quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is in Denison, Texas, with additional facilities throughout the Texoma region. TMC offers major specialty services including open heart surgery and neurosurgery, and advanced resources such as certified trauma care to support its role as a regional specialty center.
- The Therapist is responsible for conducting Biopsychosocial Assessments, individual, family and group therapy, and for treatment plan creation and updating within assigned timelines.
- The Clinician is responsible for overseeing the patient discharge planning process and appropriate utilization of department resources.
- The Clinician encourages active participation in programming and documents all services, interventions, and outcomes in a timely manner.
- The Clinician responds to emergency codes as requested or assigned.

The Clinician participates in the discharge planning process and coordinates with other departments as needed. The role includes documenting services and outcomes, and participating in treatment teams as assigned by the Clinical Services Manager and Director of Clinical Services. The Clinician provides case management services, interfaces with Utilization Management when requested, and communicates patient status to the multidisciplinary team, including the psychiatrist.
All services are provided and documented in a timely fashion in accordance with best practice standards by regulatory bodies, TAC, and facility policies.
Practices teamwork and has the ability to address the needs of patients across adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
Qualifications- Education
:
Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related human services field from an accredited college or university related to licensure requirements. - Experience
:
Completion of the appropriate internship including individual, group, and/or family therapy. Experience providing these therapies in an inpatient facility is preferred. - Licensure
:
Current LMSW, LCSW, LPCA, or LPC Texas licensure required. Additional credentials of LCDC or LMFT are a plus. - Certifications
:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider course to be completed prior to working in a clinical setting and every 90 days. Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training must be completed during new hire orientation and annually prior to working in a clinical setting. Additional training to be completed within respective timelines. - Responsibilities
:
Complete psychosocial assessments; develop, modify, and oversee individualized treatment plans; maintain accurate documentation of therapeutic services; facilitate individual, group, and family therapy and consultations in accordance with treatment plans and patient safety. - Attend and participate in treatment teams as assigned; provide case management services; interface with Utilization Management as requested; oversee discharge planning requirements; communicate patient status to the multidisciplinary team (including psychiatrists); provide timely services and documentation in line with regulatory and facility policies.
- Participate in clinical supervision and demonstrate effective communication with patients and caregivers across age groups.
