Position: Cath Lab Scrub Tech- full time (previous experience/education required)

Overview

JOB SUMMARY: A Cath Lab Scrub Tech is one who performs delegated tasks/care that requires a basic knowledge of the biological, physical, social and behavioral sciences and is consistent with the philosophy and mission statement of WNJ. Assists in the nursing care and preparation of Cardiac Cath lab patients. Functions as a member of the sterile team in donning gown and gloves, creating and maintaining a sterile field and issuing instruments to physicians.

Duties of providing quality care to assigned patients. Is under the supervision of the RN.

Education, Experience, Training
  • High School graduate or GED is required.
  • Must be certified radiology technician, an RCIS (preferred), or a certified scrub technologist.
    • Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare sterile trays, fields and work area of the patient.
  • Responsible for Scrub Assistant function of Cath Lab.
  • Interact with Rad Tech and RN's to assure quality performance.
  • Assist with QU, radiation safety functions and documentation.
  • Assist with orientation and training of new personnel.
  • Assist with inventory and ordering of all diagnostic supplies.
  • Performs housekeeping and patient transport duties as needed.
  • Maintain and test all equipment as needed.
  • Works with other staff to assure procedures are complete.
  • Continues self-education and required competencies as needed.
  • Participates in on-call rotation as required.
  • Maintains regular attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
