Position: Physical Therapist - FT, PT or PRN

Physical Therapist

Job summary:

The incumbent provides a full range of physical therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in a team environment consistent with professional practices and ethical standards.

Education & Qualifications
  • Graduate of a four‑year Bachelor’s Degree program approved by the APTA or foreign equivalent, with applicable current license/certification to practice.
  • Experience working with adult and geriatric populations is necessary.
  • Experience with outpatient program/services and pediatric/adolescent populations is desirable.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, positive, caring, customer‑focused.
  • Strong outpatient background, clinical skills and experience are preferred; new grads welcome with mentorship.
Essential Functions
  • Attend program in‑service sessions and external professional growth activities.
  • Assist program director in identifying educational needs and implementing in‑service sessions.
  • Adjust personal schedule to meet program needs when requested.
  • Protect patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Communicate professionally with various publics to achieve client satisfaction.
  • Follow applicable professional code, SOP, policies and P&P.
  • Participate in community educational/promotional activities as requested.
  • Contribute to interdepartmental rapport and working relationships.
  • Maintain current licenses, certifications and memberships.
  • Complete patient assessment and documentation per policy.
  • Set measurable functional short‑ and long‑term goals; document time frames and interventions.
  • Consult with physician regarding referrals.
  • Demonstrate safety, competency and proficiency in department modalities and equipment.
  • Use positive feedback to promote patient participation.
  • Provide goal‑directed educational/training activities based on individual needs.
  • Coordinate therapeutic activities with staff.
  • Evaluate patient response to treatment plan and update as needed.
  • Provide patient and family education on functional independence.
  • Serve as resource and provide in‑service/cross‑training to staff.
  • Attend team business meetings; offer ideas/solutions to problem‑solving.
  • Contribute to program development, organization and communication.
  • Accept special projects and assist other staff.
  • Communicate professional image/attitude to patients, families, clients and coworkers.
