Responsibilities
- Maintain various wafer processing tools as directed by management, equipment engineers and senior technicians.
- Run equipment to validate that corrective actions were successful.
- Coordinate/perform reactive maintenance and scheduled preventive maintenance on wafer and assembly processing tools, including support equipment such as pumps, power supplies and gas cabinets.
- Track, record and communicate progress of maintenance work performed on Fab, Back End and Assembly equipment.
- Train and mentor new team members.
- Work independently and in a team environment when required.
- Apply appropriate troubleshooting skills to repair common failures.
- Assist senior technicians and engineers in data collection to resolve recurring equipment issues.
- Utilize training materials, aids and certification requirements to meet personal improvement goals.
- Participate in team meetings for continuous improvement; attend vendor off‑site training as required.
- Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
- Collaborate with Process Engineering, Facilities, Test Engineering and other departments.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with the EES Manager and EES Engineers/Technicians.
- Provide timely updates and communications on equipment status to management and the Camstar system.
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Preferred minimum education:
Military Electronics certification or an associate degree in electronics.
Expected minimum years of related experience: 2+ years maintaining wafer processing equipment.
Preferred: maintenance knowledge of multiple equipment types such as TEL Mark Vz, ACT 8, ASML 5500, Plasmatherm LAPECVD, Matrix asher, Koyo vertical furnace, Lam rainbow, Disco Grinder/Saws, EVG Bond/Debond 850, CMP Polish, WET Etch Process, RENA Semi Auto Wet System, MEI SRD, MPI Diesort tools, Camtek Eagle AVI, Chroma/EG Probers.
Skills- Practical knowledge and application of electronics, mechanics, vacuum theory, mathematics, computers and testing.
- Basic computer skills and software programs (e.g., Microsoft products).
- Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and ability to learn operational concepts of systems to perform diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques for complex problems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, flow charts and cause‑and‑effect diagrams.
- Ability to set up, operate and interpret output of test equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital volt‑ohm meters, current and voltage sources and chart recorders.
- Ability to learn and adhere to established company and departmental policies pertaining to day‑to‑day operations.
- Meet requirements for Emergency Response Team.
- Problem‑solving: troubleshoot intermediate issues with little to no guidance.
- Initial responder for unscheduled down tools.
- Understand and follow written procedures and verbal instructions for preventive maintenance of wafer fab equipment.
- Self‑motivated and able to organize and manage daily work as directed by management, equipment engineer and senior technicians.
- Work independently and in a team environment.
- Organizational skills: balance planned and unplanned activities in a timely, professional manner.
- Effective communication of progress and completion of tasks.
- Read, analyze and interpret technical instructions.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries.
- Apply mathematical concepts such as exponents and logarithms for data analysis.
- Problem‑solve, collect data, establish facts to draw valid solutions.
- Interpret technical instructions (written and verbal).

- Understand processes running on tool sets and interface with the process team.
- Mentor junior team members.
- Work in a Class 100/1000 clean room.

- Stand up to 10 hours at a time.
