Job Summary Prosector – Necropsy

As an Prosector for our Necropsy team in Sherbrooke (QC), you will be responsible for performing post‑mortem examination of animals while following ethical regulations and study design guidelines.

In This Role,

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Euthanize animals prior to necropsy.
  • Perform animal tissue evaluation for pathologists.
  • Weigh and document all abnormalities of the organs.
  • Evaluate for abnormalities and follow tissue conversation methods.
Key Elements

We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:

  • College Diploma in Animal Health, inventory and research in biology or in Biotechnology or bachelor’s degree in Biology or any related to science discipline.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and ability to work independently.
  • Understanding and writing English is required.
  • Being able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.).

  • Transportation:
    Easily accessible using Sherbrooke’s public transit system. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station
  • Salary:
    Starting $/hr
  • Annual bonus based on performance;
  • Schedule:

    Position mostly to work Monday to Friday – Week‑end Rotation only. Depending on the needs, you may have to do overtime.
  • Permanent position as of the hiring, full‑time 37.5hrs per week.

About Safety Assessment

Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state‑of‑the‑art facilities and expert regulatory guidance.
