Summary:
Detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our VAT team. Support the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy in data entry and processing of VAT returns. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within an accountancy practice, utilising leading accountancy software and data management tools.
£14,722.50 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. National Minimum Wage - currently between £7.55 per hour and £12.21 per hour, and will rise in April 2026.
TrainingTraining course:
Accounts or finance assistant (level
2). Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You'll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
Hours:
Monday to Friday between 9am to 5pm. 37 hours 30 minutes per week.

Assist with processing information accurately and efficiently using various accounting software, including Quick Books and Xero. Enter financial data into the relevant systems with precision, maintaining up-to-date records. Support month-end closing processes by reconciling accounts and preparing reports. Maintain organised records of financial documents and correspondence. Assist with other administrative tasks related to VAT.

What you'll learn
:
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation's standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

- GCSE in English (grade 4 / C or above)
- GCSE in Maths (grade C/4 and above)
