An established and growing business in Shepton Mallet is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual who enjoys working in a varied and hands-on role.

• Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers
• Processing purchase and sales invoices
• Bank reconciliations
• Credit control and supplier payments
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Assisting with month-end procedures
• Liaising with external accountants where required
• Supporting payroll processing (desirable)

• Previous experience in a Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant role
• Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping
• Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, Quick Books)
• AAT qualified or studying (desirable but not essential)
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
