Starting Salary
: $22.62 - $27.65 hr depending on qualifications. A wage enhancement of $1.00/hour will be added for the regular use of Spanish in this position. An additional .50/hour is added for the regular use of a third language beyond English and Spanish.

Position works 8 hrs/day, 180 days per school year, paid over 12 months with employee agreement or hourly without a work agreement

The job of the ECEAP Teacher/Family Advocate is done for the purpose of planning and implementing appropriate lesson plans that meet the individual and group needs; ensuring that each family receives center conferences and/or home visits as determined by program model; encouraging family engagement in the program; documenting family and child progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of family and child; and maintaining an environment that is physically, socially and emotionally safe and healthy.
Duties- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans using program-approved curricula in collaboration with co-teacher, classroom team and/or education manager, for the purpose of optimizing each child’s development.
- Engage in positive interactions with children, helping to enrich and maintain a safe environment both physically and emotionally.
- Monitor children in various indoor and outdoor activities (e.g., lunch, snack time, rest periods, group, or individual play, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Direct teacher assistants, classroom aides, community volunteers, etc. for the purpose of maximizing their efficiency and meeting work requirements.
- Advise appropriate staff members, classroom team, and/or families (e.g. child's needs, observations, changes in family situations, etc.) for the purpose of developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing individual classroom goals.
- Assess each child's developmental level for the purpose of documenting progress and working with families to identify areas of focus for their child.
- Act as a support and resource person for families for the purpose of helping to case manage specific needs, advocating for families, enhancing parenting skills and encouraging family engagement in the program.
- Conduct and document formal family-focused center conferences/home visits (e.g. parenting skills, community resources, set goals, health referrals, etc.) per program standards, for the purpose of providing information and resources to the family.
- Implement Mobility Mentoring with assigned families and meeting required deadlines.
- Contribute to the team for the purpose of defining and clarifying roles and expectations with coworkers and cooperating with other program staff to maintain program quality.
- Interact with children, families, and co-workers in a positive manner.
