Warehouse Operator

Westaff is Hiring for a Warehouse Operator in Shelton, CT!

Shift: Rotating Shift

Pay Rate: $20.25, $0.75 shift differential

Warehouse Operator Responsibilities:

• Acquires and maintains skill certifications in order to properly use forklift, reach truck, and electric pallet jacks. Also, able to use tilt table, weight scale, battery exchange, stretch wrap or other equipment.
• Performs routine pre-operational check of forklifts daily and clean as needed in accordance with checklist
• Locates and distributes materials to departments as directed.
• Conducts inventory cycle counts as directed.
• Accurately prepares, inputs, and processes various reports, paperwork, or other administrative duties, manually or with computer using programs such as TMM, Word, Excel and e-mail. Properly document all material movements.
• Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and reports deficiencies or problems to supervisor or purchasing department.
• Must maintain regular and consistent attendance.

Qualifications:

• Ability to take direction and communicate.
• Ability to read and understand written documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to understand detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to troubleshoot problems. Ability to understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction.
• Ability to operate electric forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and reach trucks safely.
• Ability to work with computers or computer-based equipment.
