Compensation

$25—$55 USD per hour, based on experience, skillset, qualifications, and location.

Why this Role is Important

HVAC Replacement with Ultra‑High‑Efficient Units is our latest initiative to save energy at customer sites. Maintaining and operating these units at peak efficiency is vital to the success of this program, making this role a key player in our MA team.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure continued excellent operation of Budderfly HVAC Units within your geographic area, including maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems and equipment.
  • Identify maintenance risks on HVAC/R equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC/R systems.
  • Complete commissioning checks of HVAC Units to verify efficient operation, including correcting HVAC RTU controller configurations and mechanical operation.
  • Perform physical maintenance such as changing filters, cleaning coils, inspecting/replacing belts, and inspecting units for other mechanical failures.
  • Respond to emergency service calls on nights and weekends (when on‑call).
  • Clean, adjust, and repair systems, and perform warranty services.
  • Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Keep daily logs and records of all functions in the company work order system.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Comply with service standards, work instructions, and customers' requirements.
  • Assist customers with queries.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience as an HVAC/R service technician.
  • Refrigeration HVAC Contractor License and EPA Certification are required.
  • Experience with HVAC controls, familiarity with Lennox Core Controllers and Carrier System Vu controllers is a benefit.
  • Ability to recognize control and mechanical issues before they compound.
  • Enjoy continuous learning, both technically and professionally.
  • Desire to grow professionally beyond “just a filter changer.”
  • Desire to help shape a developing team with fellow HVAC/R technicians in your area.
  • Customer and safety focused individual.
  • Ability to travel within Lowell, MA and surrounding areas.
  • Flexibility to work some weekends and be available for on‑call duties, which may include nights and weekends.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Work with and across organization teams.
