POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Operations is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for driving operational excellence, scaling manufacturing and supply chain capabilities, controlling and reducing fixed and incremental costs and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality standards. This role provides strategic leadership for production, engineering, quality, facilities, supply chain, and distribution, while fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
The VP of Operations partners with cross‑functional leaders to align operations with overall company growth, customer satisfaction, and profitability goals.
- Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with the company's vision and growth. - Operational Excellence:
Oversee production, engineering, and distribution to maximize efficiency. - Continuous Improvement:
Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and automation initiatives. - Financial Stewardship:
Manage budgets and ensure ROI from capital investments. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with FDA, EU, MDSAP, OSHA, and DOL requirements. - Talent Development:
Partner with HR to build succession pipelines, develop leaders, and foster engagement. - Cross‑Functional Alignment:
Collaborate across Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Quality. - Vendor & Supply Chain Management:
Lead negotiations, ensure resilience, optimize inventory. - Facilities & Equipment:
Oversee maintenance and upgrades of facilities and manufacturing equipment. - Executive
Collaboration:
Provide data‑driven insights and recommendations to the President and executive team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, manufacturing
- Experience in medical device manufacturing strongly preferred
- Experience in regulated industries required.
- Demonstrated success implementing Lean/CI programs, automation, and technology‑driven improvements.
- Strong business acumen with proven ability to manage P&L, budgets, and ROI analysis.
