As an Automation Engineer within the Connectivity & Workplace – EndPoint Solutions teams at the Group Technology department you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the department's operational efficiency through automation. This will include but are not limited to:
- Participating and implementing automation solutions.
- Developing self-service and packaging solutions related to product enhancement requests.
- Executing problem resolution and change management.
- Driving innovation and planning activities with an agile mindset and tools.
- Supporting & monitoring tasks related to scripting and platform maintenance, including Incident response.
You will work as a key driver to streamline automation capabilities for all IT teams worldwide and specifically to the EndPoint Solutions teams. Generally, as part of your overall accountability you are responsible for the health, operational stability and IT security of the provided services and technologies within your scope. Within the EndPoint Solutions Automation team, it is expected that you work on service and process improvements and consistently advertise the team’s achievements and services.
In this context you will interact across the wider remit of Group Technology.
- Service Excellence – Your actions will directly impact our deliverables and other IT teams' services. You will handle tasks in a timely manner according to KPI’s / SLA’s, focusing on quality and security.
- Systems Administration – Support and perform administration, maintenance, and support actions for the automation team’s infrastructure and ensure IT security. You will maintain platform stability, evolution, and sustainability, keep documentation up to date, implement proactive monitoring, and manage health and capacity.
- Technical Knowledge and Continuous Improvement – You will oversee the technologies and products assigned to you, ensuring operational and scripting stability and standardization. You are responsible for knowledge transfer within the team and beyond, through presentations, coaching, or other methods. You will identify and foster technical innovation, alerting to risks, and participate in product enhancements or remediation actions.
- Education:
Minimum Higher Diploma, bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent; at least 2 years of experience as an IT developer. - Technical Scope – Solid experience in at least two or more of the following technologies (priority order):
- Automation Platforms (Power Platform, UiPath, Azure Logic Apps)
- Scripting Languages – Advanced proficiency in Power Shell with .NET understanding, plus Python.
- Microsoft Ecosystem (O365, SharePoint Online, SQL databases)
- Development Workflow (Git Lab, JIRA, CI/CD, SDLC)
- Windows Server, Exchange Online, Amazon Web Services Practitioner, Workspace One / Intune / JAMF, Security Knowledge or Certifications
- Client Technologies – Windows 10‑11, macOS, iOS, Bit Locker, MBAM, GPOs, Cortex XDR, Tanium
- Professional Certifications (nice to have):
Microsoft (MCSE/MCSA), Automation/Scripting Certifications, Dev Ops or other Automation/Scripting certifications. - IT Service Management – Solid knowledge of ITSM principles and practices, experience with ITSM/ITIL as an operator, familiarity with problem and change processes.
- Soft‑Skill area – The candidate should be a team player, inquisitive, honest, and fair. They should demonstrate past experience in a large international environment, possess excellent written and spoken technical English, excellent customer service skills, strong communication and organizational skills, analytical thinking, and a result‑oriented mindset. They should be independent yet collaborative.
