Overview
Evening Shift / 8 hrs/wk / EOW
Masonicare Bishop Wicke
Shelton, CT
- Performs basic nursing care procedures under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. Follow treatment plan that was designed to meet the appropriate age, needs and abilities of each resident/patient including assisting with meals and nourishment’s, transferring using proper body mechanics and appropriate assistive devices, ambulation, bathing, toileting and dressing and grooming.
- Observes and communicates pertinent information about the adult/older adult resident/patient’s condition to the appropriate facility staff.
- Takes and records pulse, respirations, blood pressures and weight as needed.
- Documents care and observations on work sheets and EMR accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintains cooperative relationships to enhance the efficient operation of the care team by providing support and assistance to co-workers.
- Adheres to infection control practices.
- Supports the psychosocial needs of the residents as per the plan of care and profile.
- Participates in educational and inservice meeting to update knowledge of techniques, guidelines and regulations. Must attend all mandatory programs. Meets basic requirement for 12 hours of continuing education per year.
- Uses equipment in an appropriate and safe manner. Adheres to standards of the Diligent Minimal Lift Program.
- Follows facility policies and procedures.
- P erforms other duties as required.
- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred
- Experience: 6 months – 1 year experience as a CNA preferred
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: State of Connecticut CNA Certification; or within 120 days of CNA Certification course completion.
