Laboratory Technician - Pediatrics at Pediatric Healthcare Associates

Laboratory Technician - Pediatrics is seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Laboratory Technician to join our pediatric clinical team. This role is essential in supporting timely and accurate diagnostic services in a high‑quality, child‑centered care environment. We’re looking for someone who is interested in providing excellent patient and family‑centered care for patients from infancy through young adulthood. The candidate needs to be a team player and have a strong work ethic.

This full‑time position requires working 30 to 37.5 hours per week (day shifts, evenings 5–8 pm, possible weekends and holidays as needed – shift differentials are offered for working evenings, weekends, and holidays).

Qualifications
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting (preferably in pediatrics)
  • Experience in pediatric or clinical laboratory settings is highly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal communication for collaboration with healthcare professionals
Responsibilities
  • Perform finger‑stick blood collections for pediatric patients in a clinical office setting
  • Carry out routine laboratory tests including Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis
  • Administer and interpret rapid infectious disease tests (Influenza, Strep, COVID‑19)
  • Accurately document test results and promptly communicate findings to clinicians
  • Conduct routine equipment quality control, participate in proficiency testing, and contribute to lab quality assurance
  • Operate and maintain automated laboratory instruments:
    Complete Blood Count (CBC) analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic tools
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards
