Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer – Shelton, CT. Join WSP, a leading engineering firm, where you’ll contribute to water and wastewater improvement projects across the United States.
Your Impact- Experience in pipeline and pump station design, including developing and evaluating project alternatives.
- Knowledge of drinking water and/or wastewater management strategies and solutions.
- Experience in treatment processes.
- Manage design tasks and identify changes and risks.
- Support preparation of design plans, cost estimates and special provisions.
- Develop memorandums and other written technical documents.
- Perform complex design tasks and develop drawings using AutoCAD and other software systems.
- Prepare project deliverables, including engineering reports, plans, specifications, estimates, project memorandums, and other documents as required.
- Determine client requirements and contribute to the development of scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Perform specialized assignments that apply professional expertise.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate and oversee the work of lower-level engineers.
- Perform site work as required.
- And other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- 4–7+ years of experience in water/wastewater facility design and engineering.
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience leading design tasks.
- Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, and craft approaches to challenging problems.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Licensed professional engineer.
- A member of and/or actively participating in local professional practice organizations.
Expected Salary: $100,000 – $150,000. WSP USA offers a compensation range that may vary based on education, experience and location. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life, retirement savings and a flexible workplace model.
