Role Description

This is a full-time role as a Special Education Teacher at Solstice Behavioral Health & Consulting, based in Shelton, CT. In this role, you will provide individualized educational support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disorders. Responsibilities include developing and implementing personalized lesson plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, monitoring student progress, and adjusting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.

You will be required to work both on-site in Shelton, CT, and remotely as necessary to fulfill the needs of the role.

Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapting instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Effective classroom management and student engagement techniques that foster a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent collaboration skills for working with families, therapists, and other professionals to support student growth.
  • Proficiency in monitoring student progress, using assessment tools, and adjusting approaches to ensure growth and success.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills to manage responsibilities effectively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Relevant certifications in special education or related fields. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field is required. Experience working with children with autism is highly preferred.
