TITLE: TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN SPECIALIST II
Job Summary
The Technology Support Technician provides front-line technology support to staff and students across seven schools within Shelley School District. This position assists with the maintenance, repair, and deployment of district technology, including Chromebooks, staff computers, classroom technology, and network equipment. The technician supports users in person, by phone, and through remote support tools while maintaining organized documentation through the district work order system.
This position also assists with summer technology projects, including network upgrades, device preparation, and infrastructure improvements.
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Technology Support Technician reports to the Director of Operations and Technology.
Major Duties and Responsibilities Staff and Student Technology Support- Respond to technology support requests through the district work order system (Incident
IQ) and provide support in person, by phone, email, or remote support tools - Assist staff and students with troubleshooting technology issues
- Communicate technical information clearly to users with varying levels of experience
- Support classroom technology, including interactive displays, and instructional devices
- Diagnose and repair Chromebooks and student devices
- Replace screens, keyboards, batteries, and other components as needed
- Install, configure, and maintain staff computers and district devices
- Perform preventative maintenance on district technology equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory and asset records for district devices
- Assist with maintenance of district network systems and infrastructure
- Support user account management and device configuration
- Assist with maintaining internet access, filtering, and security measures
- Identify and report potential technology system issues
During summer months when school is not in session, technology staff focus on district-wide technology projects including:
- Running network cable and upgrading infrastructure
- Replacing and installing network equipment
- Preparing Chromebooks and student devices for the upcoming school year
- Device inventory and asset updates
- Classroom technology upgrades
- Maintain organized documentation of work orders and repairs
- Assist with training staff on basic technology use when needed
- Help supervise student helpers when applicable
- Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information
- Represent the district in a professional and positive manner
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma required; additional technical training preferred
- Experience supporting computers or technology systems preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 45 pounds
- Valid driver's license required
- A+ or similar certification required
- Google Workspace and Chromebooks
- Microsoft 365 / Azure / Entra
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager
- Apple devices and Mosyle MDM
- Incident
IQ work order system - Remote support tools (Team Viewer or similar)
- Network infrastructure, including Fortinet and Ubiquiti systems
