Job Description

Join Amcor as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician and help keep our state‑of‑the‑art equipment running at its best. In this role, you’ll troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical and control systems to support safe, efficient and reliable production. Your skills will directly impact our ability to deliver high‑quality packaging solutions to customers worldwide.

  • Overtime: 1.5x pay for hours over 40 per week

What you’ll do:
  • Identify, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and simple electrical problems on plant facilities and production equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance per defined interval/schedule in a timely manner and document maintenance concerns/resolutions in an electronic database; providing action plans and status reports as needed.
  • Respond to emergency requests for repairs/replacements, including fire system malfunctions reported during off‑hours.
  • Ensure that all work performed meets required codes (OSHA, State and Federal) and is in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
  • Perform machine shop work operating various machines such as drill presses, grinders, MIG/TIG/stick welders, plasma torches, cutting equipment (i.e. chop saw), pneumatic tools and electric/manual hand tools.
  • Perform welding fabrication (both stick and gas) in various locations and positions including pipe and structural on various metals for new and existing equipment.
  • Responsible for proper care/cleaning of tools, parts, materials and work area.
  • Provide coverage in the absence of other Maintenance Technicians.
Preferred qualifications:
  • High level of experience and proficiency in the function, mechanics, and operation of all Maintenance equipment.
  • Computer and Software knowledge.
  • Able to work well with others / self motivated.
  • Strong mechanical skills;
    Strong Attendance and Safety Record.
  • Be able to work both independently and in a team environment, completing objectives efficiently with a sense of responsibility.
  • Be able to safely complete the physical tasks associated with the essential job functions. These tasks include extensive climbing, walking, lifting, bending, standing, carrying and squatting.
  • 1‑3 years of experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment.

  • Stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
