General Responsibilities
  • Accountable for performing day‑to‑day non‑clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities where state and federal laws/regulations allow, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience.
  • Serve as a full‑time certified pharmacy technician.
  • Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Under the supervision of a pharmacist, supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy cashiers within company policies, laws, regulations, and business ethics.
  • Responsible for the selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel, leading training, coaching, and performance management.
Customer Experience
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving complaints, and answering non‑clinical questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, enhancing customer experience through a focus on healthcare services.
Operations
  • Assist pharmacist in patient care delivery including registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, counting, and verification where allowed by law.
  • Complete patient and physician calls under pharmacist supervision.
  • Assist with healthcare services such as administering vaccines, health screenings, and any services allowed by law.
  • Delegate, direct, and assign non‑clinical work, ensuring timely completion and accountability according to company policies.
  • Prepare and file reports and records required by company and government agencies.
  • Manage core pharmacy workflow, coordinate daily schedule of activities, recommend pharmacy hour allocation, maintain a clean and stocked environment.
  • Ensure compliance and execution of administrative activities and inventory management tasks not requiring pharmacist licensure; manage annual inventory preparation.
  • Drive new technology and process rollout, champion change, and engage team in action planning.
  • Maintain pharmacy equipment operation and maintenance, ensuring security safeguards in recordkeeping.
  • Adhere to policy on Good Faith Dispensing and understand role in ensuring its elements are met.
  • Apply asset protection techniques, support diversion monitoring, and report security concerns.
  • Communicate prescription errors to the pharmacist, following company policies and continuous quality improvement program.
  • Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims to resolve customer issues and prevent payment rejections; follow up with insurance companies and medical providers; participate in third‑party audits.
  • Assist in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service.
  • Manage Community Outreach Portal, coordinate immunization clinics and community events, and build relationships with retail partnerships.
People & Performance Management
  • Lead performance management of technicians, making decisions on discipline and termination following constructive discipline policies.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling; monitor timely training completion and enforce scheduling policies.
  • Identify training gaps and support members through hands‑on training or learning modules.
  • Monitor licensure, registration, and certification compliance, using Walgreens verification resources.
  • Ensure proper procedures for selection, recruitment, record retention, and training per company policy and laws.
Training & Personal Development
  • Maintain PTCB certification via designated training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare.
  • Obtain necessary certifications and training such as LTMP e‑modules as required.
  • Seek professional development, soliciting feedback and leveraging Healthcare Supervisor as mentor and coach.
Communication
  • Communicate with pharmacy team, relaying messages from the support center and key emails.
  • Participate in store and pharmacy meetings, including brief check‑ins with Store Manager.
