Maintenance Assistant

Maintenance Assistant Position Overview

Maintain lubrication of all equipment, complete minor repairs, cleaning, and painting of equipment and facility, keeping things orderly and organized.

• Cleanliness in all areas of the facility.
• Clean and wipe down machines, presses.
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
• Painting floors, walls, equipment, and guardrails.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Equipment maintenance i.e. daily lubrication schedule and minor repairs.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Able to stoop, bend, reach and lift adhering to all safety procedures.
• Able to be a self-motivator working independently.
• Able to lift, move, and maneuver power-cleaning equipment up to 50 pounds safely.
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
• Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Experienced forklift operator.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
• Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to read applicable instructions.
