Position: (USA) Service Shop Entry Technician - Shelby, NC

Overview

Position Summary... Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans;

using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.

Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs following company guidelines under the direct supervision of a qualified shop technician, including work on Walmart equipment such as trailers; create and process work orders; assess maintenance and repair needs; identify needed parts and possible solutions; select the best solution; conduct maintenance and repairs (e.g., dismounting/installing tires, repairing flats, balancing tires, adjusting landing gear, replacing lights, trailer door repairs) in accordance with company and Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).

    seek approval for maintenance and repairs performed by qualified shop technicians; communicate with customers, suppliers, and associates verbally and in writing; and complete work orders, records, logs, and other documents per established procedures.
  • Receive fuel drops and conduct fuel sampling by monitoring the drop to ensure safety compliance; follow procedures for fuel additives; monitor tank levels before and after the drop; collect and prepare fuel samples for analysis; ship samples and complete appropriate paperwork.
