Quality Engineer

Summary
Plans and directs activities related to the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products. Ensures that manufacturing processes meet customer, internal, and regulatory requirements while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Quality Systems & Core Tools
Maintain and support overall Quality Management System (QMS)
Play a key role in APQP, PPAP, and new program launch activities
Assist with customer and supplier APQP requirements
Support Engineering and Operations in resolving production and quality issues
Inspection & Data Analysis
Develop sampling plans and quality documentation for data collection and reporting
Apply statistical process control (SPC) and analyze test and inspection data
Ensure proper in-process, final, annual validation, and PPAP inspections are completed on time
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and applicable customer standards
Audits & Compliance
Perform internal, supplier, and layered process audits
Maintain and update the Corrective Action Log and drive closure of issues
Support implementation and oversight of engineering change processes (ECP)
Ensure compliance with automotive and customer-specific requirements
Gage & Measurement Systems
Perform gage calibration, maintenance, and minor repair
Support measurement system analysis and inspection readiness
Program and operate CMM (PC-DMIS) - preferred
Customer & Continuous Improvement
Support customer concerns and containment activities for nonconforming product
Track and report scrap and drive reduction activities
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives
Additional Responsibilities
Promote quality awareness on the production floor
All other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Experience / Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred
OR minimum of 2+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in high-volume manufacturing preferred
Familiarity with automotive quality standards and core tools
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
Experience with CMM programming (PC-DMIS) preferred
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to pass pre-employment screening and follow company policies
