Senior Practitioner

Overview

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a permanent position for a Social Worker within the Family Safeguarding Team. The role is full time and based in Hertford, Hertfordshire. Salary is up to £44,428.00 per annum.

• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children/young people and support their families and carers by working with cases appropriate to your assessed experience, skills and knowledge.
• Assess the needs and circumstances of service users.
• Plan, carry out, review, and evaluate social work practice with service users and other professionals.
• Support service users to represent their needs, views and circumstances.
• Manage risk to children, young people, families, carers, self and others.
• Be accountable for your own social work practice with supervision and support.
• Assist and provide advice to families and carers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of skills and resources through training and supervision.
• Advise management of community needs and resources.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
• Demonstrate professional competence in social work practice by using current knowledge and working within agreed standards of best social work practice and HCPC codes of practice.
• Contribute to/undertake the assessment and supervision of students; support new staff by coaching and joint work with less experienced staff.
• Work closely with other statutory and voluntary agencies to support preventative strategies.
• Carry out other duties as defined by the Director of Children’s Services.

• CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work or equivalent professional qualification.
• Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
• Ability to travel independently to required areas.
