We are looking for a hard working and self motivated Carpentry Foreman to work on a contract basis with a leading UK contractor on multiple projects based in Hertfordshire.

Rate £250-300pd

3-6 months

Working on a number of modular car park projects your responsibilities/duties will be as follows:

• Working alongside the Project Manager you will be responsible for managing a team of carpenters on such works as external cladding, 1st and 2nd fix including snagging works through to handover.
• Assist projects and make sure that they are scheduled for works to complete on time and to budget
• Oversee direct and sub-contract labour, resources and materials
• Ensure and assist a pro-active approach to Health & Safety, ensuring projects follow company procedures and legal legislation
• Maintain a positive relationship with customers & maintain a professional standard service to ensure smooth running of the project
• Ensure quality control is adhered to and works are completed to the highest possible standard
• Working with the Customer Care Coordinator to efficiently resolve snagging items post handover

Experience required:

• Candidates must be from a trade background with at least 5 years carpentry background
• 3-4 years working as a Foreman/Supervisor
• Have a full set of own tools
• Be used to working to a strict set of plans and drawings
• An exceptional eye for detail
• Be used to working as a leader and a key member of a team
• Must have experience of all aspects of a project from start to finish
• Must work closely with the Project Manager and Contract Manager to deliver the end project
• Candidates must be from a trade background with experience of working in a construction site environment.
• You will be comfortable dealing with multiple projects at the same time.
• Willingness to work hands-on in a team environment and be highly motivated to overcome numerous obstacles
• Flexible and adaptable with excellent communication skills
