Role: HGV Fitter (Hydraulics / Pneumatics / Welding)

Shift Pattern:
Monday – Friday 6.30am - 4pm and Saturday 6.30 - 11.30

My client is a well‑established and growing HGV Engineering business with over 40 years of industry experience. They are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Fitter to join their busy Sheffield depot. This is a days 배송‑based role with no engine work required, ideal for a fitter with strong mechanical and fabrication skills who enjoys hands‑on workshop work.

You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and modification of HGVs, trailers, tippers and cranes, focusing on hydraulics, pneumatics and welding.

• Maintenance and repair of HGVs, tippers, trailers and ancillary equipment
• Working on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Coordinating welding and fabrication repairs (MIG / arc)
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults (non‑engine.priority)
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment
• Complying with health & safety procedures at all times
• Ensuring all health and safety obligations are met and company policies are adhered to
• Reporting any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents and incidents by the end of the shift for investigation and prevention of recurrence
• Ensuring activities and associated actions support the upkeep and maintaining ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards and certification
• Having a good understanding of vehicle mechanical interfaces and component repairs
• Installing / repairing hydraulic systems
• Overhauling raft components
• Understanding schematic drawings

• Previous experience as an HGV Fitter, Trailer Fitter, or Plant Fitter
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
• Relevant mechanical or fabrication qualifications (desirable but not essential)

• Day shifts only – Monday to Friday
• No engine work
• Optional Saturday overtime (6:30am – 11:30am)
