Role OverviewThe Technical Sales Specialist plays a key role in developing new business and supporting customers through the full sales cycle. You’ll combine technical expertise with consultative selling, helping clients choose the right Lumosa solutions, producing lighting designs, and providing on‑site support where needed. This role suits someone who’s confident with electrical principles, familiar with sports lighting standards (FA, FIFA, LTA, RFU, etc.),
and comfortable working directly with clubs, contractors, consultants, and local authorities.
- Develop new business across sports clubs, leisure operators, contractors, and facility managers.
- Conduct site surveys, gather technical requirements, and advise customers on optimal LED sports lighting solutions.
- Create or interpret lighting designs, photometric layouts, and Lux level calculations.
- Present system benefits, ROI, energy savings, and compliance with governing body lighting standards.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, tenders, and project documentation.
- Support installation partners and electrical contractors with technical queries.
- Attend project meetings, site installations, commissioning visits, and aftersales reviews.
- Represent Lumosa UK at industry events, trade shows, and customer demonstrations.
- Maintain accurate CRM records utilizing Hub Spot and contribute to sales forecasting.
- Build strong long‑term relationships with customers and partners.
- Proven background in sports lighting, LED lighting, or electrical installations (essential).
- Strong understanding of lighting principles: beam angles, lux levels, uniformity, glare control, etc.
- Ability to read technical drawings, electrical schematics, and lighting plans.
- Confident producing or interpreting lighting designs (Calculux experience is a bonus).
- Commercially driven with a consultative approach to selling.
- Comfortable working independently and travelling across the UK.
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and customer‑facing.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience selling into sports clubs, councils, leisure operators, or contractors.
- Knowledge of sports governing body lighting standards.
- Understanding of switching/controls, smart lighting systems, or IoT‑enabled solutions.
- Electrical qualification (e.g., 18th Edition) ideal but not mandatory.
