Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Salary:
Up to £51,000
(Starting typically around £48,000, increasing after probation — roughly £23.08/hour initially.)
Shift Pattern
 
* Early: 06:00–14:00 (Mon–Fri)
 
* Late: 14:00–22:00 (Mon–Fri)
 
* Nights: 22:00–06:00 (Sun–Thurs)

About the Employer
This opportunity is with a specialist engineering organisation that focuses on supporting large‑scale industrial machinery. Their work covers everything from the commissioning and installation of advanced machine tools to complete rebuilds, upgrades, long‑term reliability programmes, and day‑to‑day maintenance.
Primary Site
The engineering team is permanently based within a major heavy‑industry manufacturer. This is an ongoing, embedded contract — not a temporary project — where the team operates as the dedicated on‑site maintenance partner.
What the Team Oversees
Responsibilities cover the precision‑engineering side of the facility, including:
 
* Machine shops and machining departments
 
* Multiple workshops (usually 3–4) under their remit
 
* A newly developed machining facility that will soon fall under the team’s responsibility
 
* High‑value CNC machinery and associated systems
 
* Planned maintenance, repairs, continuous improvement, and reactive work
Key Engineering Duties
 
* Full mechanical and electrical strip‑downs and rebuilds of large machinery
 
* Complete installation projects, including assembly and commissioning
 
* Performance improvements, upgrades, and life‑extension work
 
* Preventive maintenance programmes to maximise uptime
 
* Troubleshooting and responding to breakdowns
 
* Long‑term support to improve asset reliability and condition
