Monday-Saturday at 1.5x hourly rate, Sunday at 2x hourly rate

Shift Pattern
  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30
  • Friday: 08:00 – 13:00

(39 hours per week)

Position Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Assembler to join a well-established, precision engineering business in Droitwich. This role focuses on the production of high-integrity sub-assemblies for specialist equipment used in demanding industrial applications. Working as part of a skilled assembly team, you will be responsible for the accurate construction of components – particularly those involving copper work – to strict quality and technical standards.

This is a hands‑on role where attention to detail, craftsmanship, and quality focus are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture high‑quality sub‑assemblies used in advanced industrial systems.
  • Interpret detailed engineering and technical drawings with precision.
  • Braze copper tubing to bus bars and fittings (2mm – 6mm diameter).
  • Operate air‑powered punching tools and precision assembly equipment.
  • Form and bend copper tubing to exact specifications and radii.
  • Carry out water pressure testing of manifolds and assemblies to verify quality.
  • Ensure all work meets strict internal quality and safety standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and maintain high housekeeping standards.
Experience & Requirements
  • Proven background in mechanical assembly or copper fabrication.
  • Skilled in brazing copper components to a high standard.
  • Confident reading and working from engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Competent with workshop tools, including air-powered and manual equipment.
  • Quality-focused with strong attention to detail and precision work ethos.
  • Comfortable working in a production environment that requires accuracy and consistency.
  • Plumbing experience or pipe work, and brazing or silver soldering experience would be advantageous.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required to support project deadlines.
Additional Benefits
  • Holiday: 33 days per year (Jan‑Dec), which includes 5 extra days above statutory minimum. Additional holiday accrual for length of service: 5 years +2 days, 10 years +3 days, reaching a total of 38 days.
  • Pension:
    In line with auto‑enrollment. Employee pays 5%, employer pays 4%. Discretionary bonus up to 11% of salary, paid in March, which can be received as pension or as a cash equivalent.
  • Company Sick Pay:
    Probationary period:
    Nil;
    After probationary period up to 4 years: 6 weeks;
    Over 4 years: 12 weeks
  • Death in Service:
    Eligible from day one, paid at 4x pensionable salary.
  • Workwear:
    Corporate T-shirts/Sweatshirts, work trousers/overalls, and PPE as required.
