We have an opportunity for a Production Scheduler to join our Scheduling Team at Fletchers Bakeries which forms part of our Northern Cluster. Our Fletchers bakery has over 125 years of baking tradition, with our Kara bakery supplying wholesale bakery products for over 35 years. Fletchers Bakery can trace its roots back to 1895 and our portfolio includes gourmet brioche, traditional sliced bread, bloomer breads and vegan and gluten free options, among others.

The Production Scheduler plays a key role in ensuring customer demand is met by creating, maintaining, and communicating robust production plans that optimise capacity, efficiency, and operational best practice within a fast-moving FMCG manufacturing environment.

This is what you’ll actually do.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that meet customer demand and business objectives while maximising output within available capacity, labour, and material constraints. You will determine and continuously review the running order of production lines to optimise efficiency and minimise changeovers. You will actively manage finished goods inventory to consistently achieve customer service levels of 98.5%+, while minimising write-offs linked to short product shelf life.

Attending and contributing to production review meetings and short interval control forums will be a key part of your role, alongside monitoring production performance and proactively adjusting schedules to address disruptions or delays. You will analyse and report on key planning and production KPIs, including yield, efficiency, and schedule adherence, identifying risks and improvement opportunities. Working closely with Material Planners, you will ensure the timely availability of raw materials and packaging, while coordinating with Production, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Planning, and off-site providers to ensure end-to-end alignment.

Reacting effectively to changes in customer demand and priorities, you will continuously review and adjust production sequencing to meet outbound loading requirements and balance production and labour resources. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of production plans, inventory levels, and work orders is essential, as is ensuring all planning activities comply with safety, quality, and operational standards.
