About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and support the machine shop operations both strategically and technically. This is a key leadership role where you will ensure products are delivered right first time, meeting quality, budget, and schedule requirements.

You will drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and oversee the introduction of new products and processes in a controlled manner. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of manufacturing engineering within a modernising organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to optimise product flow through machine shops.
  • Develop and implement the manufacturing engineering strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement programmes aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure Quality Management Systems align with industry best practices.
  • Lead controlled introduction of new products and processes.
  • Align team activities to value streams, products, and customer requirements.
  • Support readiness for new machine shop investments and expansions.
  • Define and manage performance criteria for the engineering team.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in a similar leadership role within manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong background in change management and continuous improvement.
  • Expertise in low and high-volume manufacturing processes.
  • Experience introducing new products and processes.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM and PLM systems.
  • Ability to analyse data, make recommendations, and report findings effectively.
