Position: Community Change Project Manager

Main duties of the job

Lead the strategic planning, coordination and delivery of projects across the Compassionate Sheffield Programme. Build, maintain and strengthen partnerships with community groups, voluntary organisations, statutory partners and wider system stakeholders. Lead stakeholder engagement and communication to support openness, collaboration and shared purpose across Sheffield. Oversee the coordination and delivery of the annual Compassionate Sheffield Festival and other key engagement activities. Provide leadership and direction to the Programme Team, fostering learning, development and dispersed leadership.

Monitor, evaluate and report on programme impact, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with agreed KPIs. Ensure robust programme governance, including risk management, quality assurance, budget oversight and commissioning activity as required. Represent the programme at meetings, events and community forums, including occasional evening and weekend work.

Job responsibilities

Plan, deliver and coordinate a portfolio of projects that support compassionate communities and reduce inequalities related to death, dying and grief. Develop and manage effective partnerships that enable co-production, shared ownership and long‑term cultural change. Lead sensitive and inclusive conversations, using evidence, insight and lived experience to inform decision‑making and inspire action. Manage programme budgets, procurement and commissioning activity in line with organisational policies and governance requirements.

Ensure effective programme monitoring, evaluation and reporting, capturing both quantitative outcomes and qualitative impact. Support and develop team members, encouraging collaboration, reflection and continuous learning. Act as a St Lukes Ambassador, championing compassionate care, community connection and the values of the organisation across Sheffield.
