Maintenance Assistant

Sandman Signature Sheffield Quays Hotel are looking for a General Maintenance Assistant to ensure that the hotel is maintained to a high standard at all times.

Maintenance Assistant
- Full time £26,500 - £28,000 dependent on experience

You’ll be responsible for making sure the property is consistently maintained to group standards, and any issues are addressed in a timely manner.

The role will cover both reactive and planned preventative work and will involve working closely with all departments within the hotel to ensure minimum disruption to guests. You’ll perform general maintenance and repair tasks, complete property audits, record benchmarking data such as meter readings and water temperatures, and work closely with the Maintenance Manager to monitor relevant stock levels.

You will be required to carry out scheduled compliance tasks such as:

• Fire alarm / door checks
• Emergency lighting checks
• Plant and equipment checks
• Legionella temperature checks

Knowledge and experience of health & safety, tiling, painting, plumbing, electrics and decorating are highly desirable to this role, alongside being enthusiastic, motivated and able to work well under pressure. We are looking for someone who prides themselves on a high standard of work and has the ability to prioritise their workload efficiently. Customer service experience will also be very advantageous.

Previous experience in Building Maintenance or construction is preferred, but not vital.

We will consider all qualifications but ideally looking for someone who can cover a range of areas.

The role is full-time and will involve some shifts, including early mornings and into evenings plus some weekends, as and when required.
