We are seeking an experienced Open Shift Architecture and Migration Design Specialist to lead the design, planning, and execution of enterprise Open Shift architecture and migration strategies.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Red Hat Open Shift, Kubernetes, container platforms, and cloud-native architecture, along with strong experience integrating Open Shift environments with VMware and Pure Storage infrastructures.
This role will focus on designing scalable, secure, and resilient Open Shift environments and ensuring smooth migration of applications and workloads with minimal disruption.
Key ResponsibilitiesOpen Shift Architecture Design- Design and implement enterprise-grade Open Shift architecture, including cluster topology, networking, and storage.
- Define best practices for Open Shift cluster deployment, including multi-zone and multi-region architectures.
- Ensure solutions meet high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery requirements.
- Provide architectural guidance for containerized platforms and Kubernetes-based workloads.
- Assess existing infrastructure, workloads, and applications for migration readiness.
- Develop detailed migration strategies including containerization, workload migration, and data transfer.
- Execute migration plans ensuring minimal downtime and operational disruption.
- Identify migration risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Design Open Shift deployments integrated with VMware environments.
- Utilize VMware technologies such as vSphere, vCenter, and NSX for optimized deployments.
- Configure and manage Pure Storage solutions (Flash Array, Flash Blade) to support Open Shift workloads.
- Ensure performance optimization and compatibility across Open Shift, VMware, and storage infrastructure.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines optimized for Open Shift environments.
- Integrate Dev Ops workflows and automation tools for continuous deployment.
- Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring processes to streamline software delivery.
- Design solutions that support scalability and future workload growth.
- Implement security best practices, including:
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Network policies
- Encryption
- Conduct security reviews and compliance audits for Open Shift environments.
- Work closely with Dev Ops, development, and infrastructure teams.
- Provide architecture documentation, migration guides, and operational runbooks.
- Offer technical guidance and training to teams on Open Shift and Kubernetes best practices.
- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Open Shift (OCP) architecture and deployment.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, and orchestration platforms.
- Expertise with VMware technologies (vSphere, vCenter, NSX).
- Hands-on experience with Pure Storage platforms such as Flash Array and Flash Blade.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including ingress, DNS, and load balancing.
- Experience with persistent storage, dynamic provisioning, and container storage solutions.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Hub, or ArgoCD.
- Experience implementing Dev Ops workflows in container environments.
- Strong knowledge of high availability, scalability, and security architecture.
