DevOps Lead

Dev Ops Lead (Dev Sec Ops  / Security Engineering)

📍 Sheffield (2–3 days per week onsite)

We are seeking a highly experienced Dev Ops Lead with strong security engineering expertise to lead the design, implementation, and enterprise adoption of secure Dev Ops and Sec Ops capabilities.

This is a principal-level, hands‑on leadership role responsible for driving secure platform delivery, shaping Dev Sec Ops  strategy, overseeing deployments, and ensuring enterprise‑grade security controls are embedded across cloud and on‑premise environments.

You will lead a small team of engineers while remaining technically hands‑on, delivering reusable security frameworks, secure deployment patterns, and vault‑based secrets management solutions.

• Define and lead the Dev Sec Ops  strategy and roadmap across the organisation.
• Oversee secure platform deployments and ensure delivery meets stakeholder and security objectives.
• Lead and mentor a small team of engineers to deliver security‑focused Dev Ops initiatives.
• Influence architectural decisions at enterprise level and drive cross‑team adoption of secure engineering practices.
• Engage with stakeholders to manage evolving business, technical, and regulatory requirements.

• Design and deliver end‑to‑end enterprise security solutions across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Build new secure environments, frameworks, reusable components, and reference architectures.
• Lead proof‑of‑concepts and pilot programmes for emerging security technologies.
• Establish and scale reusable security patterns to reduce engineering toil and improve control maturity.
• Drive initiatives across:
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Secrets and key management
  • Software supply chain security
  • Infrastructure security controls

• Implement and manage secure secrets management solutions using Hashi Corp Vault (or equivalent vault technologies).
• Embed security controls within CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code workflows.
• Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to identify and remediate security control gaps.
• Ensure secure build, test, deploy, and runtime practices across all environments.
• Produce high‑quality technical designs, documentation, and knowledge transfers.
• Lead the handover and adoption of newly built security capabilities to engineering teams.

• Extensive experience in Dev Ops leadership with strong Dev Sec Ops  focus
  .
• Deep expertise in:
  • Security architecture
  • IAM and privileged access controls
  • Secrets and key management
  • CI/CD security and pipeline hardening
  • Supply chain security
• Strong hands‑on experience with Hashi Corp Vault (or comparable enterprise vault technologies).
• Public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
