Enterprise Architect

Location:

Sheffield, UK (Onsite)

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Solution Architect / Engineering Lead to lead a large-scale migration of Atlassian Jira and Confluence from Data Center (DC) to Atlassian Cloud
.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining architecture, governance, and delivery across the entire migration lifecycle.

• Define end-to-end solution architecture for Jira & Confluence DC → Cloud migration.
• Design near real-time data replica, synchronisation engine, abstraction APIs, and integration patterns.
• Establish canonical data models, API contracts, transformation logic, and dual-run mode switching.
• Evaluate and recommend platforms across database, integration, API gateway, automation, and event streaming.

• Ensure adherence to enterprise security, compliance, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Establish data governance, lineage tracking, auditability, and traceability standards.

• Produce architecture artefacts including HLDs, LLDs, data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, and ADRs.
• Review and approve engineering and vendor technical designs.
• Provide guidance on scalability, resilience, performance optimisation, rate limiting, and error handling.

Lead architecture across all migration phases:

• Discovery & Data Cleansing
• Configuration Standardisation
• Target‑State Design
• UAT & Production Cutover
• BAU Operational Handover

• Support Program Manager in risk management and dependency tracking.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture, engineering, security, product, and Atlassian partner teams.
• Provide executive‑level technical reporting and advisory support.

• 8+ years in Solution Architecture or Enterprise Architecture roles.
• Strong expertise in:
• Event‑driven architecture
• Knowledge of Atlassian Cloud APIs, export/import frameworks, and identity integrations.
• Strong architecture documentation and stakeholder leadership skills.
