Test Technician – Contract (Outside IR35) or Permanent – Competitive Pay

A leading organisation in the electronics sector is seeking an experienced Test Technician to join their team. This opportunity is open to both contractors (outside IR35) and candidates looking for a permanent position. The role offers a competitive pay rate and the chance to work in a technically challenging and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform testing of electronic circuit boards and assemblies in accordance with ISO
  9000 standards, including thorough documentation and results storage.
• Conduct safe testing of high-voltage power supplies (training and supervision can be provided if required).
• Interpret and work from schematic drawings with a strong understanding of basic analogue circuits.
• Fault-find and diagnose issues with circuit boards.
• Investigate and repair customer-returned units.
• Assemble PCBs, including the use of surface mount technology (SMT).
• Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and multimeters.
• Transformer winding experience is a plus; training available if needed.
• Liaise remotely with design engineers, requiring clear and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities & Authority:

• Ensure the quality and integrity of your own work.
• Conduct final inspections to verify that all specified requirements have been met.

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience in the electronics industry.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in electronics or a related science subject (preferred).
• Must be a UK citizen and capable of passing basic security checks such as DBS.
