Join our client, Sheffield City Council, as a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Consultant and contribute to the enhancement of workplace safety and employee wellbeing across the Council. This role is integral in ensuring the effective implementation of health, safety, and wellbeing strategies, aligning them with the Council's broader goals and improvement targets.
As the ideal candidate you will have excellent communication skills and be able to build trust with co-workers to enable them to carry out their job safely and promote health and wellbeing.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Business Outcomes:
Deliver services to agreed standards, ensuring policies are future-focused. Research and analyze data to support new initiatives and strategies. - Leading Change:
Review and help implement the Council's health, safety, and wellbeing strategy. Promote improvements across the Council, including schools, and develop related projects. - Strategy and Policy:
Translate organisational needs into practical health, safety, and wellbeing interventions. Use data to inform decisions and enhance workplace health and morale. - Customer Delivery:
Provide expert advice and solutions to manage health, safety, and wellbeing risks. Develop policies, procedures, and guidance to improve workforce wellbeing. - Additional Duties:
Lead wellbeing campaigns, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Support the commissioning of third-party services as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong technical knowledge of health, safety, and wellbeing.
- Proven experience in implementing health and safety strategies.
- Project management and data analysis skills.
- Ability to create risk assessments, safe work methods, and standard operating procedures.
- Audit experience and capability to support directorates effectively.
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate).
- Ongoing professional development and IOSH membership (technical level or above) is desirable.
