Autism Assessor (Children and Adults)

Private Medical Practice - ad hoc work Working Hours will be between:
Tuesday: 8:00 am – 6:30 pm Friday: 8:00 am – 6:30 pm Saturday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm About the Role We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Autism Assessment Specialist to join our private medical practice. You will play a key role in independently assessing and diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in both children and adults, following recognised clinical guidelines.

This position involves conducting comprehensive autism assessments, preparing diagnostic reports, and supporting ongoing patient care and management plans. You will work autonomously within the clinic and collaborate with our remote consultant psychiatrist to ensure timely, patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities Perform thorough autism assessments for children and adults using validated tools (e.g., ADOS-2, ADI-R). Confirm ASD diagnoses in line with NICE and other relevant clinical guidelines. Prepare detailed diagnostic and clinical reports, maintaining accurate patient records. Collaborate with the psychiatrist on complex cases and care plans. Provide psychoeducation and support to patients and families regarding autism management. Liaise with GPs, schools, and other professionals as needed.

Ensure compliance with clinical governance, safeguarding, and confidentiality policies. Participate in supervision and ongoing professional development. Requirements Essential:
Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), Clinical Psychologist, or equivalent with current professional registration. Proven experience diagnosing and managing autism in children and adults. Strong knowledge of NICE guidelines for autism diagnosis and treatment. Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills. Ability to work independently and manage a clinical caseload effectively. Desirable:
Independent Prescriber qualification (V300) if applicable. Experience in private healthcare settings. Familiarity with digital health systems and remote working practices. Please apply with your CV, thank you!
